Identifying & tracking trends
Uncover how trends shift over time, across age groups, genders, and around the world.
Let's say you want to see how IPs' popularity has changed over the last year, and how kids' tastes in IPs shift as they grow up - or across cultures!
1. To do so, we'll use "SIDE BY SIDE", which you can access from the "Audience Segmentation Tools" page (light blue icon in the left-side bar).
2. Adjust filters - in our example, we'll be comparing IPs' popularity over time in the UK among kids aged 3-9 between March-May 2024/2025, so the only filter that will be different between the two question is going to be the date.
By adjusting the filters you can easily compare countries, age groups, and gender differences!
3. Select which country, question group, and question you'd like to compare. Character-related questions can be found in the "CHARACTER" question group.
(!) With lots of different responses to analyse, export your graph data to Excel and use formulas such as VLOOKUP to compare percentage changes across segments.

- TRACK MONTHLY CHANGES OF INDIVIDUAL ANSWERS
Use "IN FOCUS" to track how individual answers change month by month, or "SIDE BY SIDE" to compare trends between two specific dates. You'll find both tools on the "Audience Segmentation Tools" page - look for the light blue icon in the left sidebar.
1. Let's start with "IN FOCUS".
Here you can choose which country, question category, and specific question from the chosen category you want to analyse demographic data of.
2. Click on the drop-down menu to pick which of the countries you are subscribed to you want to analyse. For this example, we'll pick the UK.
3. Choose the question group - for this example, we'll focus on tracking the popularity of Harry Potter among teens in the UK between May 2024 and May 2025.
4. Choose the question - to analyse characters' popularity, we can pick "Which of these characters do you like?"
5. Adjust the filters.
6. This over time line chart shows monthly shifts in popularity; you can compare multiple answers by clicking on this drop-down menu.
If you want to single out another IP, you can do so by left-clicking on the respective bar chart.
